The Leander ISD Council of PTAs Clothes Closet is one of 7 programs owned and operated by the Leander ISD Council of PTAs. The purpose of the Clothes Closet is to provide gently used school clothing and brand-new underwear and socks to our students residing within our school district. We have clothing for grades pre-K through the SELF 18+ Program. The only qualification for families to shop at the Clothes Closet is that their students reside within the Leander ISD boundaries.

Our program has no income or voucher requirements.

Park in front of the campus and walk toward the gardens. Parking in front of the portables is for teachers only.

Shopping Times

Every Tuesday and one Saturday: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

*First and third Wednesdays:

5:30 - 7:00 pm

Dates with an * are our Wednesday evening hours.

We are closed on school holidays and bad weather days.

Our program follows the Leander ISD Academic School Calendar.

Clothing Students Receive

Each semester (2 semesters per school year), students can shop for 10 tops, 10 bottoms, 2 outerwear items (coats, jackets, or hoodies), 5 pairs of brand-new socks, 5 brand-new underwear, and 2 pairs of shoes.

These items do not have to be selected in one shopping visit — families may shop within the same semester until all items have been chosen. All clothing items selected are FREE. All students residing within LISD boundaries can shop with us.

Volunteer Information

We need volunteers every day the store is open and extra days to sort and organize. Any community member, retiree, parent, or grandparent may volunteer with us!

Sign up as a volunteer through the Leander ISD Raptor system. LISD will perform a background check to screen our volunteers.

Buildings indicate the campus you want to volunteer.
Functions indicate PTA Clothes Closet.
Affiliation indicate your role within LISD. You will choose “community member” if all your students have graduated.

Once you receive an approval email from LISD, click on one of the locations below to sign up for a time slot. You will receive a confirmation email with the dates you have picked.

We're so grateful to all the wonderful volunteers who help make our Clothes Closet so great! For the month of July, there are volunteer opportunities to help us prepare for the upcoming school year.

Students Can Volunteer

High school, middle school, and elementary students are welcome. All elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or an older sibling. Students (except elementary students) must be a registered volunteer with the district. Click here to register.

Current Donation Needs

Please review our donation guidelines. We accept gently used clothing and shoes (in current fashion, meeting the school dress code), brand-new underwear and socks.

Our greatest clothing needs are Boy's pants and Men's XS-XL tops and bottoms

We are always in need of brand-new socks and underwear. You can shop from our wish lists which will deliver to the correct address. We are unable to accept deliveries at either of our portable buildings.

We recycle clothing items that we are not able to use to a local veteran-owned thread recycling organization. The money earned through this recycling organization helps to fund our program.

**We also accept donation support through employer-sponsored volunteer hours through Benevity. Please email us if you would like to donate your volunteer hours to support our program.

How to Donate

You are welcome to drop off donations during regular shopping times, handing your bags to a volunteer. Donation receipts are available upon request.

Donations Bins can be found at either of our two stores.

The North store's blue bin can be found to the right of the store near the handicap parking space.
The South store's green bin can be found behind River Place Elementary in Austin.

If your donation is too large to fit in the bin, contact us to arrange a time for someone to meet you.
