LISD PTA Clothes Closet

The Leander ISD Council of PTAs Clothes Closet is one of 7 programs owned and operated by the Leander ISD Council of PTAs. The purpose of the Clothes Closet is to provide gently used school clothing and brand-new underwear and socks to LISD students residing within our Leander ISD boundaries.

Our program has no income or voucher requirements.

Thank you for a great 2025-2026 school year! We were able to serve over 3,200 families, 5,600 students, 4,100 clothing items to LISD staff, and over 5,000 volunteer hours!

Clothing Students Receive

Each semester (2 semesters per school year), students can shop for 10 tops, 10 bottoms, 2 outerwear items (coats, jackets, or hoodies), 5 pairs of brand-new socks, 5 brand-new underwear, and 2 pairs of shoes.

These items do not have to be selected in one shopping visit — families may shop within the same semester until all items have been chosen. All clothing items selected are FREE. All students residing within LISD boundaries can shop with us.

Volunteer Information

We need volunteers every day the store is open and extra days to sort and organize. Any community member, retiree, parent, or grandparent may volunteer with us!

Sign up as a volunteer through the Leander ISD Raptor system. LISD will perform a background check to screen our volunteers.

Buildings indicate the campus you want to volunteer.
Functions indicate PTA Clothes Closet.
Affiliation indicate your role within LISD. You will choose “community member” if all your students have graduated.

The donation bins will be closed from June 5 until July 13.

Current Donation Needs

We recently updated our donation guidelines for the school year 2025-26.

We accept gently used clothing and shoes, brand-new underwear and socks.

We are always in need of brand-new socks and underwear. You can shop from our wish lists which will deliver to the correct address. We are unable to accept deliveries at either of our portable building locations.

We recycle clothing items that we are not able to use to a local veteran-owned thread recycling organization. The money earned through this recycling organization helps to fund our program.
