PTA Programs provide enrichment and education to students and parents, offer opportunities for family and school engagement, and build community in your school. Programs can vary widely, depending on the interests of your school community and membership, and each PTA designs the structure for its program leadership roles that best fits the organization. There are a variety of program resources from both Texas PTA and National PTA to guide you in planning programs. Additionally, National PTA provides grant opportunities to cover the costs for a variety of programs.

National PTA and Texas PTA encourage local PTAs to develop goals for increasing family engagement by following National Standards for Family-School Partnerships and to focus on transformative family engagement. There are four guiding principles to achieve transformative family engagement and ensure every child's potential becomes a reality:

  1. Inclusive

  2. Individualized

  3. Integrated

  4. Impactful
