July 4th and 5th brought devastating flooding in Texas Hill Country and Central Texas impacting members of our own community and beyond. Below are resources for those impacted by the flooding as well as ways our community can help. Both Travis County and Williamson County have been officially included in the declaration of disaster as of July 5th, 2025.
Resources for Those Impacted By the July Floods
Leander ISD has an extensive network of service providers, partners and resources. You can find those here:

Travis County Health and Human Services will be operating a Recovery Center at Danielson Middle School. This location will serve as a one-stop hub offering essential services to families impacted by the floods.
Services would include:
Daily hot meals, provided by the Central Texas Food Bank
Showers and hygiene access
Mental and physical health support
Case management services
Drive-through water pick-up lane
Travis County is fully staffing the Recovery Center, which will operate seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. We are working closely with county officials to ensure safety and security, minimal disruption to district operations, and clear communication throughout this process. This site will not be accepting any donations.
A revision from previous communication – The Recovery Center will be available to anyone seeking assistance. If you are coming to Danielson Middle School by vehicle, please enter through the Halsey Drive entrance, where staff and volunteers are ready to provide support with a warm welcome.
For more information on the Recovery Center, please reference Leander ISD’s Recovery and services updates here.
Disability Rights Texas has a comprehensive list of resources available for disaster relief including getting help from FEMA, Disaster Unemployment Assistance, SNAP, Disaster Loans from SBA, Reporting Damage, Disaster Distress Helpline, and Legal Resources.
